@thenrymy Funny you should ask...My parents met and married in Beirut and divorced 3 years later (1964). My mum was a single parent at a time when it was unacceptable in a society where it was unacceptable. She applied to migrate to Australia in 65 during a "white Australia" migration policy and women legaly earnt only 75% of mens wages in the same jobs. She proudly "earnt" her citizenship in 1972 having met a series of qualifing criterea, so yes to both those questions.

@NORTHERNKONFLIKT I'm not sure what your point is, something about countries needing a certain population or a hangup on 200 years ago, but you've misused "then" within a sentence of calling other people (you don't really specific whom, either racism or just whoever reads your comment?) stupid. Ergo, your opinion is void. Pretty sure out country is bout 22 mil while, including all metro areas, ny is 19 mil. This stuff should make you quiet, but no doubt it'll just make you worse.
