2013 Hyundai Elantra: Model Lineup, Features, and Options
The Elantra comes in two trim levels: GLS and Limited. The GLS model includes such features as air conditioning, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, cruise control, heated power mirrors, power windows, power door locks, remote keyless entry, satellite radio, digital-media player connection, and USB port. The Limited adds a leather-wrapped steering wheel with radio controls, leather upholstery, heated front and rear seats, mirror-mounted turn signals, power sunroof, wireless cell-phone link, voice recognition, fog lights, and 17-inch alloy wheels. Optional equipment includes a navigation system, rearview camera, dual-zone automatic climate controls, upgraded sound system, keyless access/engine start, automatic headlights, and auto-dimming rearview mirror with universal garage-door opener. Newly standard for 2013, the GLS base model with manual transmission gets air conditioning, cruise control, telescopic steering wheel, and 16-inch wheels. Also, the Limited trim gets a power driver seat with lumbar support.
2013 Hyundai Elantra: Engines, Transmissions, and Drive Wheels
The Elantra uses a 148-horsepower 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine. It is paired with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic. All Elantras are front-wheel drive.
2013 Hyundai Elantra: Fuel Economy
The EPA rates Elantra at 29 mpg city/40 mpg highway regardless of transmission. In Consumer Guide testing, an Elantra GLS model with manual transmission averaged 32.2 mpg in mostly highway driving. A Limited, which has the automatic only, did 31.4 mpg in mostly highway driving.
