Wichita State's Marshall gets extension (AP)

Wichita State coach Gregg Marshall has agreed to a one-year contract extension. Athletic director Eric Sexton announced in a release Monday that Marshall’s contract has been extended through April 15, 2015. The Shockers went 17-17 last season, an improvement from their 11-20 record in Marshall’s first year.

Coach Peterson back at Appalachian State (AP)

Buzz Peterson has changed his mind and is returning for a second stint coaching Appalachian State. The school announced on Wednesday that Peterson has accepted the job, three weeks after initially turning it down. He’ll replace Houston Fancher, who was fired last month. Peterson went 79-39 in four seasons at ASU between 1996-2000.
